The customer accepts that it is his\her responsibility to be aware of the General Rules and Regulations relating to betting as contained in the relevant Provincial Ordinance, as well as to be aware of AfricaBet's unique policies regarding horseracing and sports betting. Copies of these documents are available for perusal from the Supervisor or Manager on duty.

All bets taken have to be accompanied by a cash payment, we do not accept cheques for any transactions.

Right of Admission to AfricaBet's betting premises is reserved.

No persons under 18 years of age are permitted to bet, nor are they allowed inside the betting facility.

Winning bets are subject to the relevant Government Betting Tax.

Customers enter AfricaBet's betting premises at their own risk and AfricaBet will not be liable for any loss or damage caused to the customer or his property.

All Yankee bets and bets of a similar nature, will be laid at Starting Price (SP).

If in a multiple bet, any selection becomes void, the entire bet in itself does not become void. The balance of the bet stands and the odds will be recalculated. Even if one bet of a multiple bet remains, the bet will stand as a single bet.

All soccer bets will be settled on the score at full time (90 mins), and extra time and penalty shootouts do not count. Where a bet is struck 'to lift the cup' or 'to progress' there shall be no betting on the draw as extra time or penalties may be required to decide the outcome.

AfricaBet reserves the right to correct errors where our operators\odds makers may have made a bona fide error in case of a market price.

Please check your tickets before the start of a race. Cancellations and amendments cannot be made once the race has started so refunds cannot be given. Please note that once the race has started, that race is locked as per gaming board rules and regulations and cannot thereafter be activated. It is your responsibility to check that your ticket is correct immediately after processing.

No bet may be accepted in respect of a horse race once that race has officially started. All bets placed on a race after the official start thereof shall be void.

Winnings must be collected within 90 days of conclusion of the winning bet although Hollywood will honor all valid tickets indefinitely.

Payments may be made by cheque or bank transfer.

POSTPONED AND ABANDONED SOCCER MATCHES

All bets will be declared void should a match be abandoned before 90 minutes.

Bets placed on postponed matches will stand if the match is played within 24 hours and the venue remains the same.

Bets placed on postponed matches which are not played within 24 hours or at the same venue will be declared void.

Where abandoned or postponed games form part of a multiple bet, then only that leg of the bet becomes void. The balance of the bet stands and the odds are recalculated.

All single bets on void matches will be refunded.

LIVE IN RUNNING BETTING

The betting is monitored remotely and has absolutely nothing to do with the counter clerk nor the manager or supervisor on duty.

Because of the nature of IN RUNNING betting, called bets cannot be entertained and a bet is only valid should a client be in possession of a ticket.

Bets may not be cancelled.

AfricaBet will, from time to time during a match, suspend an event and no prices can be guaranteed unless the customer is in possession of a ticket. Typically, but not restricted to, the betting will be suspended for free kicks, penalties, red cards or a passage of play that could result in a drastic change of betting.

The result of a soccer match will be posted on 90 minutes of play, unless otherwise stated.

There will be three available outcomes; home win, away win and the draw.

SOCCER SPECIAL

Purpose: The purpose of the soccer 6 is to select the result of six soccer matches as designated in the official soccer 6 fixtures card for each event. There are three possible results for each match viz., 1 - Team A to win, 2 - a draw and 3 – Team B to win.

Unit of betting and minimum bet:  The unit of betting is R1.00 and the minimum bet is R1.00. All results are based on the score at the end of normal play, including extra time if played, but not penalty shootouts.  The dividend and results declared by SAFTOTE.

Calculation of dividend:  The AfricaBet dividend shall be the SAFTOTE dividend divided by 6.

Abandoned, cancelled and rescheduled matches: If a match or matches, as designated in the official soccer fixtures card, is not completed by midnight Sunday (SA time) of the weekend or by midnight of the final midweek day during which it was to be played, it shall be treated as an abandonment and all result choices for the match, shall qualify as winners.

Refunds: If all the matches, as designated in the official fixtures card, are abandoned, all bets shall be refunded.  Should there be no winning tickets on a soccer 6 pool on SAFTOTE but winning tickets at AfricaBet, AfricaBet will pay a dividend determined by dividing the number of AfricaBet winners into the SAFTOTE NETT pool. These dividends will be subject to our normal ticket limits as per the AfricaBet exotic bet rules.

SPORTS MULTIPLES

Any Multiple bet that includes a sporting event will be limited to Thirty Events with a limit of R300 000.

NO DIVIDEND LIMITS ON LOCAL & INTERNATIONAL RACING

No dividend limits apply to Win, Place, Swinger, Exacta, Trifecta, Quartet, Double, Place Accumulator, Jackpot, Pick Six, “Starting Price” bets, Yankee type bets or Soccer Specials. However, payouts will be limited to the lesser of R300 000,00 Ticket Limit or 300 000/1 Odds Limit. Dividends on all events will be restricted to the respective Saftote net pool sizes.

Example:

1. If you catch a Pick Six that pays R630 000,00 to a R10.00 unit and you               catch it once (100%) the R300 000,00  Ticket limit will apply - dividend  paid:      R300 000,00

2. If you catch 20% of a Pick Six that pays R700 000,00 to a R10.00 unit, the          Odds limit of 300 000/1 will apply - dividend paid: R60 000,00          

A bet is accepted on the understanding that it is the investment of one customer and the maximum that one customer may win, irrespective of stake is R300 000,00. Should a number of bets containing the same selections be placed by one or more customers and AfricaBet has reason to believe that these bets originated from the same customer or syndicate of customers, AfricaBet reserves the right to limit the total payment of all such bets to the maximum amount payable that a single customer can win namely R300 000,00. 

Swinger and Place Pools will be divided by the number of places and swingers offered.

Where more than one dividend is displayed because of dead heats, the net pool will divide accordingly.

TOTE RULES FOR UK RACING

All tote Win, Place and Exacta pools on UK races are commingled with British Tote pools. Zimbabwean horseplayers must note the following:

No pools are commingled in races with more than 20 runners.  In such races the tote operates its own pools and tote rules apply.

British Tote rules apply to commingled pools and, in the case of Place betting, these are substantially different to S.A. tote rules.

British Tote rules for Place betting depend on whether a race is a handicap or non-handicap and are as follows:

NON-HANDICAP RACES

4 or less run : No Place betting

5 - 7 run : Payouts first and second

8 – 20 run : Payouts first, second and third

HANDICAP RACES

4 or less run : No Place betting

5 - 7 run : Payouts first and second

8 – 15 run : Payouts first, second and third

16 - 20 run : Payouts first, second, third and fourth

WIN WHEN YOU LOSE WITH THE  AfricaBet OBJECTION

If your horse passes the finish line first and is relegated because of an objection, we will refund all straight Bookmaker win bets and Bookmaker tote win bets... with a smile!

4TH PLACE BONUS FOR BOOKMAKER TOTE PLACE BETS

If your horse runs 4th in a field of 14 or more starters, we will give you your stake back - with a smile! ( This refund does not apply to fixed odds place bets or any multiple or “all-to-come bets” )

FIXED ODDS PLACE BETTING

The following shall apply to place betting at fixed odds:     

1. AfricaBet’s Fixed Odds Place betting is based on carded runners.  

2. In any races of 3 carded runners or less no place bets shall be placed. All bets placed shall be refunded.           

3. In any races of 4 to 6 carded runners, betting will be offered on the first 2 places.        

4. In any races of 7 to 13 carded runners, betting will be offered on the first 3 places.        

5. In any races of 14 or more carded runners, betting will be offered on the first 4 places.

6. Should a field be reduced from the original number of carded runners, the number of places paid will not alter. Eg. should a field be reduced from 14 carded runners to 13 actual runners, 4 places will still be paid, subject to deduction rules. The same applies from 7 carded runners to 6 actual runners where 3 places will be paid.

7. All fixed odds place bets are subject to the rules relating to scratchings and deductions. In the event where scratchings result in 3 runners or less, all place bets will be refunded.

8. In the event that scratchings reduce the size of the field, the above rules will apply.

9. AfricaBet may at anytime withdraw the offer of fixed odds place                        betting in any given race or event.

10. AfricaBet reserves the right to adjust the prices offered for a fixed odds place bet.
